FLYRS Summer Camp 2018 is full! Thanks for everyone who signed up, and/or shared our info; we’re so excited that this was a hit for our inaugural year and we look forward to many more days on the trails with your kiddos.
FLYRS Summer Camp is here! This June 11-15, your 7-14-year-old can spend a fun-filled week riding their mountain bike, improving their confidence and skill on trails, playing cycle-themed games, and engaging in STEAM activities related to biking. Formal camp activities begin at 8:30am and end at 4pm, and each day will include 2-4 hours of riding, and 1-2 specific skills that will be developed. The week will also include a bike maintenance workshop, and a trail stewardship workshop. Space is limited, so sign up today!
Camp is one full week: June 11 through June 15. FLYRS campers can be dropped off at the camp location anytime between 8-8:30am, and they can be picked up anytime between 4-4:30pm. Only children that will be 7 years old by June 10 are able to participate; due to camp structure and schedule, we cannot accommodate younger children. Campers will be divided into two groups based on age (7 through 10 or 11, and 11 or 12 through 14 year olds).
Full week of FLYRS camp is $190 per child, and each additional sibling is $170 plus one free FLYRS shirt. Camp registration does not include a FLYRS shirt, and they are not mandatory, but if you would like to purchase one, they are $15 per shirt. Shirts are short sleeved, polyester, bright green athletic shirts with the FLYRS logo on the front and back. Although a FLYRS shirt is not mandatory for summer camp, it’s super helpful if your child wears a brightly colored shirt for visibility on the trail.
FLYRS camp will be held at two locations during the week.
- Monday: Thorpe Park
- Tuesday: Thorpe Park
- Wednesday: Fort Tuthill
- Thursday: Fort Tuthill
- Friday: Fort Tuthill
Each camper should bring the following with them every day:
- Bike in proper working order
- Properly fitting helmet
- Appropriate clothing (layers, raincoat) for being outside all day
- Lunch (we will have a large cooler to keep lunches in)
- Two additional snacks
- Two water bottles filled with water
- A way to carry water while riding (i.e. either a water bottle holder on their bike or a hydration pack that they can wear)
